Winning Awards – Trinity Medical Centre, Hove

What do you do with a derelict church that was constructed in the 1860’s and last used in 2008? Turn it into an award winning NHS Medical Centre, which respects and enhances the original architecture, whilst also providing a wonderful environment for a large medical practice to treat c.19,000 patients.

The development in central Hove has transformed 1,300 sq m of historical building into a fully NHS compliant surgery over 3 floors. There is also an onsite pharmacy, to make life easier for patients.

The building itself provides an inspiring and positive environment for staff to work and patients to receive treatment. It has been fitted with state of the art medical appliances and consideration has been given to both the patients’ and staffs’ experience as they move through the building. This includes a car park and separate entrance for staff.

Careful consideration and planning was given to ensuring the church’s architecture was incorporated into the building. This provides a truly unique environment, as seen in the pictures. This achievement has also been recognised by the winning of the Sussex Heritage Trust Commercial Award 2017.

Nadeem Ahmad, Senior Partner at Trinity Medical Centre, says: “In partnership with the Medical Centres Group, we have created a unique medical centre that meets our current needs and allows for future growth. It is a pleasure coming to work in such a beautiful and inspiring building and we know our patients also appreciate the environment.”

This medical centre is part of a wider portfolio held by the Medical Centres Group. Information on the group as a whole can be found here.
