New Facilities for Patients in Brighton

Medical Centre Developments (MCD) is busy building a brand new GP surgery for St Peter’s Medical Centre in the middle of Brighton. It will serve St Peter’s existing c16, 000 patients and be capable of housing a number more. It will also incorporate mental health counselling facilities for Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, and there are plans for a new onsite pharmacy too.The new building will incorporate a host of environmentally friendly features, including heating via air source heat pumps, photovoltaic solar panels, a partial biodiverse green roof and electric vehicle charging points.

This new development will replace the existing St Peter’s Medical Centre on the same site. It will be well over three times the size of the existing St Peter’s Medical Centre.

It’s another example of how MCD, in partnership with their GP/NHS Trust clients, are facilitating a new environment for positive health outcomes for patients and a first class working space for staff.

MCD is ensuring patient disruption is kept to a minimum with a phased development that allows the surgery to stay open and caring for patients whilst the new medical centre is being built. Phase one of the new surgery is due to be completed in 2022, with the whole project finished in 2023.
