MCD team visit to the new St Peter’s Health Centre, Brighton

The new St Peter’s Health Centre in Brighton has now been completed, and the team from MCD went down to visit the practice in its magnificent new home.

The complex project involved multiple stages to ensure that services remained operational throughout the development phase, with the old surgery remaining operational while phase 1 of the new build was completed, before the surgery moved into phase 1 to allow the old surgery to be demolished and phase 2 to be commenced. The result is a brand new building that is quadruple the size of the old one with space for mental health counsellors from Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, to work alongside the busy surgery.

Air source heat pumps, photovoltaic solar panels and electric vehicle charging points, have all helped to make this building our greenest yet.

The practice is delighted with the result, and were very grateful for the team at MCD, particularly Nigel Ford, for helping them navigate the many challenges faced during the redevelopment. The MCD team particularly love the top floor staff room, complete with south facing sun terrace – we’re sure the practice will enjoy the facilities for years to come!
