In a world of shareholders and red tape, Medical Centre Developments is refreshingly different. With over 30 years’ experience, we’re the UK’s oldest and largest private investor in medical centres. Yet we remain compact and nimble.
Michael Sharp
Managing Director
Michael is the second generation of the family who founded the company to be involved in the business and, as our managing director, is responsible for the strategic vision of the company. A qualified solicitor, he has been with MCD since January 2022 and previously worked for an international law firm in London where he was a construction law specialist.
When he leaves the office, Michael is a busy dad who’s a keen supporter of Newcastle United and a fan of the lovely Northumberland countryside.
David Shannon
Director for Scotland
David’s team looks after all issues related to existing and new property management and development. With us since 1999, he’s a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Real Estate Management and Development and a Diploma in Building Surveying.
Outside of the office, David enjoys spending time with his family and with the church, sometimes with a bass guitar. Dinghy sailing and tennis keep the cobwebs at bay.
Nigel Ford
Director for England and Wales
Nigel leads on new developments and handles asset management of our existing portfolio in England and Wales. He’s a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) with 35 years in the industry, 20 of them at MCD.
In his spare time, Nigel’s a committed hockey dad and Glastonbury regular. He started running in his 40s and has five marathons behind him.
Andrew Sutherland
Property Director
Andrew works on new developments and the management of the existing portfolio in England, Wales and Scotland. He is a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) with over 10 years working in the primary healthcare sector. Andrew joined MCD in 2023.
Outside the office Andrew enjoys following cricket and meeting up with friends and family socially. Andrew can also be found on the golf course or the swimming pool in his spare time.
Ash Dattani
Director of Finance
Ash Dattani has been with us since 1999 and has overall responsibility for all our financial matters.
At the weekend, Ash enjoys football, cricket, walking and spending time with his grandchildren.
Jen Liu
Finance Manager
Jen is the oil that runs through the company’s financial machine and day-to-day office matters. MAAT-qualified, she’s been with us seven years and previously spent over eight years as a management accountant for a media company.
In her spare time, Jen enjoys socialising with friends, reading and travelling.
